Frances was born and grew up in London, England. On completion of her studies in secondary education at Christ Church College Canterbury, Kent, she attended Emerson College in Forest Row. There she enrolled in the foundation year followed by a year focused on the arts of sculpture, painting, metalwork and eurythmy as well as pursuing her interest in the phenomenological approach to science. Research into the intersection of science and artistic practice in individual and group work continues to be a passion.
After moving to the US in the 70’s she became involved with the founding group of the Chicago Waldorf School where she worked as a class teacher and special subject teacher before joining the high school as an art teacher and class sponsor. She also served on the Board of Trustees and worked with governance issues as well as mentoring and teacher education.
Relocating from Chicago to Marquette in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Frances now focuses on adult education and her work on the PSC and the Leadership Council of AWSNA and a Core Group member of the Waldorf Teacher Institute in Chicago. She continues to mentor in various schools and give workshops.She is currently the facilitator of the Council.
