School Visits
We offer the opportunity to have a member of the council, or two, visit your school to support your work in the deepening of Waldorf education. Through this process the council has the opportunity to share elements of our research that may help you address issues you are dealing with. The reciprocal gesture for the council is that we gain more insight into living questions that can help inform our research so that we can better serve the movement.
The length of visits depends on the needs and resources of the school. They have been from a full day and a half in-service to a three hour session or working in a faculty meeting.
The focus theme of the work is developed in consultation with each individual school since circumstances vary. These are some of the themes that have been worked with in the past:
- Responsible innovation and curriculum development
- Collegial collaboration
- Contemplative practice as research into the latent potential of human consciousness
- Breathing and review in main lesson and subject lessons including practical examples of short artistic exercises that support the content and can be easily incorporated into lessons.
- Child and student study working with temperaments and planetary gestures
- Working with the Core Principles for Individual teachers developed by the PSC
Conversation between the visitor and school often awakens new possibilities for deepening our work in unexpected ways and is the key to collaborative research together.
Schools are responsible for transportation and hosting.
Consultation cost: $250-$1,000 This depends on time allowed, number of PSC members requested and consultation with the school.
Sometimes we have funding to cover the consultation fee, and we are deeply grateful for such generosity, sometimes individual schools have chosen to pay the fee as a gesture of support for the PSC’s work since we are a volunteer organisation. This is discussed with the school ahead of time.
